Today’s #marchmeetthemaker wants to see our work area. While I would love to have a dedicated soaping room, for now, the kitchen is where the soapy magic happens. Of course for safety reasons I have to keep it all neat and tidy while each batch is made but there is a bit of an overflow of all the extra soap I make and I have stolen a bit of kitchen space for just that. I’ve heard that a messy work space is the sign of genius. Well, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it. This little area can get quite crowded so I find myself constantly rearranging things to ensure the Savages get enough space to breathe before I pack them away ready for shipping.
I won’t lie. What isn’t in this picture is the little bits and bobs that I use to bring my soapy creations to life. Little pipettes, my trusty soap cutter and a few packaging ideas I am playing around with. I also have a few sketches of soaps I am hoping to add to the range (read yesterday’s post on big dreams!). Some of them are a bit trickier to make so it may take a few attempts to get it right.
